HSM 2015, défi #2 Bleu/Blue #3 Stashbusting - Corps XVIIIème/18th century stays - Partie 1

Je sais que je suis un peu en retard pour le défi #2 : Bleu. Mais comme j'ai commencé mon premier corps XVIIIème et que c'est plutôt long et compliqué, je ne voulais pas me stresser, et bien prendre mon temps. Et comme je l'ai commencé à partir de tissus déjà dans ma pile, je me suis dis que j'allais faire deux défis en un seul projet ! :D

I know I'm a bit late for challenge #2 : blue. But as i have started my very first pair of 18th century stays and because it is a complicated project, I took all my time to do it. As I made from fabrics in the stash, i thought i could do two challenges in one project ! :D

En cherchant des inspirations, j'ai hésité entre :

  - des bas

  - une cape

  - une jupe

  - et un corps XVIII ème

While looking for inspirations, I hesitated between :

  - stockings

  - a cape

  - a skirt

  - and a pair of stays

Et comme je ne voulais pas aller acheter du tissu − parce que j'en ai déjà plein et parce que je suis flemmarde − j'ai fait le tour de mes tissus bleus.

And as I did not want to go out and buy fabric − both because I already have plenty and because I'm lazy − I took all my blue fabrics out.

Et je me suis décidée pour le corps XVIIIème. C'est un vrai challenge pour moi mais je suis ravie d'avoir fait ce choix.

And then I picked the pair of stays. It is a true challenge for me but i'm happy i made that choice.

J'avais donc besoin d'un patron. J'ai choisi celui-ci. 

So, i needed a proper pattern, and I picked this one.

Comme il était une taille trop petite, j'ai ajouté une deuxième marge de couture. J'ai commencé par une toile.

As it was one size too small, I added a seam adjustement. I started with a toile.

Pas trop mal. Je suis donc partie sur la même taille pour le tissu externe.
Not bad. I then started on the same size for the fashion fabric.

Et aujourd'hui, j'ai entamé les baleines. Ce n'est pas tout à fait une réussite au niveau du placement mais à part attendre d'avoir tout fini tour essayer, il n'y a pas grand chose à faire...
And today I started the boning. Placing is not really well done but I'll have to wait until it's all finished to know if I need to undo everything...

Ça en est là pour le moment. J'espère avoir le temps de finir pour la fin du mois.
